About
Us

Conforti Community Aid Children Organization (CCACO), known simply as Conforti, was founded in 1998 to address the urgent needs of young people in Sierra Leone through education, child welfare, and community empowerment.

For over two decades, we have been at the forefront of helping communities build schools in underserved areas, where in many cases the nearest school is more than five miles away. Beyond infrastructure, we empower educators by providing Core Skills Training in areas such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, digital literacy, citizenship, and leadership, in collaboration with initiatives like the British Council Connecting Classrooms Program.

Our National Impact

Conforti is a recognized national organization that contributes to the realization of children’s rights through:

  • Strengthening the capacity of government and communities

  • Delivering direct services in education, child protection, and mental health

  • Advocating at grassroots, national, and international levels

  • Our commitment to innovation, accountability, and impact was honored in 2008 with the Pan African Award for Entrepreneurship in Education.

Mission Statement

To advocate for and provide access to quality education, mental health and protection services, and economic empowerment for children and families through partnerships with communities, government, and organizations that share our vision.

Our Core Values

At Conforti, we embrace a culture that is modern, relevant, and inspiring — one that empowers students to dream of and build brighter futures. We are determined in our approach to learning, creative in our thinking, and bold in our ambitions.

Partnerships That Drive Change

We maintain strong partnerships with key government ministries — including MEST, MHS, MSWGCA, MODEP, and the Ministry of Justice — working collaboratively to improve the lives of children, women, and vulnerable families.

As part of our expanding mission, Conforti is advancing mental health services in Sierra Leone, training community leaders, reducing stigma, raising awareness, and empowering individuals to take control of their lives.

Our Philosophy

We believe that young people must be at the center of learning. Our philosophy is rooted in the conviction that every child is naturally curious and capable of initiating learning when placed in a supportive and thoughtfully prepared environment. From early childhood to adulthood, we nurture this curiosity to unlock potential and inspire lifelong growth.

“Every day at Conforti feels like a blessing. Surrounded by active students and dedicated staff, I am constantly reminded that when we invest in children, we invest in the future of Sierra Leone. Our mission is not just to educate, but to transform lives and communities.”
